Pinch, punch, first of the month! December brings with it cold, snow, presents, Christmas music and of course, how could I forget, bigger heating bills… (if you live in the UK anyway!). Luckily for us it also means MORE deals for you to buy MORE books to leave on your shelf read. I have picked out some of my recommendations and the whole list can be found at the bottom. Unless mentioned, all of these books are 0.99p.
The Spellbreaker Duology

Both books of the Spellbreaker duology by Charlie N. Holmberg are on sale. I don’t know much about these other than they are historical fantasy fiction featuring magic, wizards, spellbreakers and romance. You can get both of these books for the low low low price of £2.00.
The Dragon Republic (The Poppy War #2)

The follow up to the hugely successful ‘The Poppy War’ – this book shouldn’t need an introduction. If you don’t know what it is then you shouldn’t even be looking at it, go find the first book The Poppy War and start there. Fun fact – November had the third book on sale. Still here? Go read the first one!
Hogfather (Discworld #20)
![Hogfather: (Discworld Novel 20) (Discworld series) by [Terry Pratchett]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51IMiw+F4bL._SY346_.jpg)
It wouldn’t be a December list without a bit of Christmas magic and this has been supplied by the late Terry Pratchett. A master of the craft who created a fantastical world in his Discworld novels. This is the 20th book in the series but I believe you can start anywhere (best google this).
Darkblade Assassin (Hero of Darkness #1)

The cover on Amazon does this more justice but it sounds really good. Goodreads lists it as ‘Dexter meets The Punisher’ and if that doesn’t scream pain and blood I don’t know what will… maybe actually screaming when bleeding?
The Girl in the Tower (Winternight Trilogy #2)
![The Girl in The Tower: (Winternight Trilogy) by [Katherine Arden]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/514IHwServL._SY346_.jpg)
I have read this one! It’s the second book in the Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden and this is a story about Russian fantasy, demons and magic, betrayal and honour. It’s an awesome trilogy but if you haven’t read the first one, The Bear and the Nightingale. Absolutely brilliant.
Red Sister (Book of the Ancestor #1)

I have this book on my shelf and haven’t read it yet, however, I know it is in 3rd person. So there’s that.
NY Times #1 Bestseller, Tamora Pierce said this: “Dark, passionate, tense, with a female hero anyone could relate to — I was utterly fascinated! This is no pretty, flowery tale, but one of vastly different people struggling to survive.”
For 0.99p are you really going to go wrong buying a book by Mark Lawrence? No.
A Time of Dread (Of Blood and Bone #1)

It’s only the first book in a John Gwynne series! Now I haven’t read this yet but it is on my TBR. This is the first book in a trilogy set in the Banished Lands (the same place as The Faithful & The Fallen). This epic fantasy and John has carved a name for himself in the fantasy genre for being excellent at it. I have read Shadow of the Gods and loved it. If you haven’t read a book by John I would highly recommend you purchase this book and jump into the Banished Lands (of which I am yet to even get to because you know, tbr).
The Book of Koli (Rampart trilogy #1)

Another book on my shelf that I haven’t read yet and you should now be seeing why I can’t buy any more books until 2025, living vicariously through you lot with these sales. This is the first book in a trilogy featuring deadly plants and a civilization trapped by rules and fear until one person decides to venture outside of the safety of the walls…
So there are some of the highlights of December’s Kindle Deals – you can check out the FULL list here – There are some good titles in there so have a dig and don’t forget you can gift eBooks so maybe buy some presents for a bookworm you know.
See you on New Year’s Day!
